Bosch fridge-freezer error codes
Bosch fridge-freezers show an E or F code on the display when a sensor or the electronics detect a problem. Find your code below for what it means and the safe checks to try first.
| Code | Meaning | Severity | First action |
|---|---|---|---|
| E1 | Fridge sensor fault | Often fixable at home | The fridge compartment temperature sensor is faulty or disconnected. |
| E5 | Freezer sensor fault | Often fixable at home | The freezer compartment sensor is faulty or disconnected, so the electronics cannot confirm freezer temperature. |
| E7 | Display / communication fault | Often fixable at home | The control panel has lost communication with the main electronics board — often after a power glitch. |
Safety first
Unplug before any check. Never open panels beyond the filter flap. Anything involving internal wiring, the heater or gas must go to a professional — see each code page for its "call a professional when" line.
