Hoover tumble-dryer error codes
Hoover tumble dryers show an X or number code when the electronics detect a fault. Find your code below for the meaning and safe checks.
| Code | Meaning | Severity | First action |
|---|---|---|---|
| X1 | Drying temperature sensor | Often fixable at home | The drum temperature sensor is out of range, so the dryer stops heating and aborts the program. |
| X2 | Heater circuit fault | Often fixable at home | The heater circuit is open or has tripped — the drum turns but clothes stay damp. |
| X3 | Condenser / airflow fault | Often fixable at home | Airflow through the condenser is restricted or the condenser fan has failed, so drying is slow or fails. |
Safety first
Unplug before any check. Never open panels beyond the filter flap. Anything involving internal wiring, the heater or gas must go to a professional — see each code page for its "call a professional when" line.
