Appliance Fault Codes

What that error code means — and what you can safely check

Miele washing machine F12 error code

F12 means water inlet fault. Water inlet fault: the Aqua-Stop system detected the drum did not fill with water in the expected time (water tap closed, kinked inlet hose, or blocked filter).

Often fixable at home · Fault type: Electrical/hardware

Safe checks, in order of likelihood

  1. Turn off the machine, then check the water tap is fully open.
  2. Straighten the inlet hose and check the filter in the inlet valve for debris.
  3. If the tap is fine, run the Rinse/Spin programme to reset; if F12 returns, the inlet valve or Aqua-Stop hose may need an engineer.
